The Democrats have a nominee -- finally

May 6th, 2008 (09:21 pm)

Barack Obama locked up the Democratic nomination tonight. There is simply no way (even an unlikely way) for Hillary Clinton to win the nomination. It also looks like he may well win Indiana along with North Carolina. He performed very solidly in all demographics. Now is the time to put our ground game together and get ready for the big and most important fight.

The great part is we have 3.5 million new voters, too. Democrats comprised 68% of the voters showing up at polls. The distress sound you are hearing is the death throes of the US right-wing.

mel obama

Yup. Clinton has canceled all her campaign appearances for tomorrow (including all the TV interviews) and is said to be "in discussion with advisers about the future". At this point, she would have to win 90% of everything left to even tie him. Even the most optimistic supporter has to see it's just not doable.

We have a nominee. Thank heavens.
