My husband and I will celebrate 30 years of marriage on 10 June
I'm looking for some novel ideas to celebrate. Keep in mind I'm a 48 year old woman who is a major coward so bungee jumping, rock climbing, roller coasters and anything of the kind is out of the question. I have to white knuckle it through the Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland which should tell you something of my courage threshold. My husband is 58 and shares my marked antipathy for adrenalin highs.

We're in Southern California so if anyone has any area-related trip suggestions, that would be cool, too.

As I'm the lone heterosexual among my full siblings, I have absolutely zero fashion sense so casual attire would be appreciated. lol

If only we could right now! We are actually talking about an Australian trip for the end of 2009, though. I didn't want to tell you yet because I wanted it to be something of a surprise if we can actually do it, but what the heck ... LOL

Congrats, Mel. I suggest you and hubster go and spend the night on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. It was such a fun experience. And do take the night-time tour into the inner bowels of the ship. It was the creepiest thing I've ever done. I think you can handle it! Besides, the ship is gorgeous and the restaurant we ate in was great. Besides, all those ghosties will give you a chance to cuddle. And do not jump off the ship with a bungee.

Thanks, my friend. I love the Queen Mary ... in fact, I'm a ghost hunter from way back (in fact, I knew Jason Hawes when he had hair lol) though Larry isn't fond of ghosties. I've even stayed in the Haunted Room and have a bunch of EVP from the swimming pool area. We haven't been there in awhile though so that's a great idea. Thanks!

Oh, cool. Then you might consider a revisit if nothing else strikes your fancy. Wasn't the pool a strange place to be?
Melody Clark: ghost teddy[info]melodyclark on May 20th, 2008 04:24 pm (UTC)
The pool is definitely a strange place. I once brought a debunker over there (not a skeptic but one of those "it doesn't exist because I say it doesn't" sort) with a digital audio recorder. He captured an EVP around there of a little girl very clearly saying, "Good day, sir". There were, of course, no children anywhere around. He now regularly collects EVP. lol

I have no suggestions (our idea of a romantic night was spaghetti for dinner, a movie in the VCR, and an early bedtime), but I wanted to congratulate you.

So,

CONGRATULATIONS MEL AND LARRY!!!!

That's exactly our idea of a romantic night. lol Larry and I were actually dangerously considering going out to a movie and to Panda Express. We don't do excitement.

And thank you!!

Both of you get on line (separately), look up jokes, get into your most comfy jammies, split an icecream cake and throw jokes at each other till you're rolling on the floor. A good laugh is almost as cool as an orgasm and sometimes one leads to the other. Sometimes you don't have to leave home to have a great time. If you were here in Michigan I'd say light a fire in the fireplace (it's still in the 40's to 60's here) before you throw down.

Believe me, I wish we were in a cold climate. I love cold, rainy weather and I live in So California. The ice cream cake and giggles sounds like a definite strong idea. Thanks.
