God, I have a migraine the size of Texas. I am PMS'ing (arentcha glad I shared that?), one person from my past called me on the phone to try to involve me in some project, my Sicilian mother-in-law decided today was the day to grump at me about some crap her doctor did, my kid sister needed computer help (sorry for chomping your head off, Mindy), I had a close encounter of the troll kind (which on any other day wouldn't have bothered me), our neighbor directly across the street was arrested last week and today the detectives came over and packed everything up they hadn't taken then to take with them while refusing to tell us what we had in our neighborhood even in the most general terms (as in "not a meth lab"), but at least I have the
sure and certain knowledge that I have survived.
And then I sat down and what do I find -- Bill Clinton (someone who is definitely far more conservative than I am but whom I used to still consider a fairly good man) has morphed into Simon bar Sinister. Clearly, he and Hillary have thrown in with McCain and if SHE can't win,
no Democrat can.
This is going to be a long damned summer, my friends. It's the final showdown of the corporate Democrats (DLC) versus the real ones. My money is on Barack Obama and Howard Dean (and word tonight is Al Gore is going to swing his support behind Obama to counter the Clinton end-run).
If Gore does that, Hillary had best start pulling down the banners.
Sorry for the downbeat post. I'm so damned sick of politics -- and people sneer at us lowly Yanks and how "apolitical" we are. I say "you deal with this garbage for two years and see how civic-minded YOU are!"
