A place I love
I've had a really awful week, as some of you know (no good deed goes unpunished). What I try to do when I'm feeling sorry for myself is look outward at one of my favorite charities/causes. I'd like to write a little today about what I consider a most important place -- the Angels Gate Pet Hospice. After an appearance on Oprah and the Today Show, they're getting famous, but I still think their work is *so* important that I'm going to mutter on a little bit about it here.

There are lots of pets that go to animal control/animal shelters with disabilities or severe illnesses. Typically, these pets are immediately destroyed. They're generally considered unadoptable due to their illness/disability even though they may be wonderfully sweet pets deserving of good homes. There are just too many stray dogs and cats, etc, in the system and not enough adopting homes.

For all of them, there is Angels Gate. It's a non-profit pet hospice and rehabilitation center that takes in all such animals and gives them good, loving care and a permanent home. Their website has a permanent place on my links, but here's a direct link to their website. They also have a Cafe Press Angels Gate store (with proceeds obviously going to AG) and a wishlist of items needed on their website. I've added below one of their little friends. This is Sheila ...

Sheila who must walk on her back legs due to malformed front legs. She has a permanent, loving home at Angels Gate

My dog Cheyenne is my icon, btw -- after a bath, so she doesn't look her best lol. She's a rescued dog and thanks you.
