Obama comment, vid pulled
The music vid I posted has a major glitch in it, so I'm pulling it (except for the JA comm itself). I hate looking at it when I've "seen" it. lol

But, speaking of politics, here's Obama's "Annie Oakley" speech from yesterday ... I started out an Obamagnostic, as my friends know, but I like him a little more every day.

I like Obama - I didn't at first, but he's growing on me. He's got my vote. Well, he would if I didn't live in Florida and my vote actually counted.

Yup, I agree. This race reminds me so much (oddly enough) of the George H.W. versus Bill Clinton one. Poppy Bush came off as such a lame fraud who had no sense of the electorate, no idea of how to give a speech, and didn't know how to conduct himself with regular people. Everything he did outside his tiny circle made him like stupid. Bill, by contrast, looked liked the best dancer in the chorus. Now that karma is turned around and Hillary just can't keep up. It's really sad actually since I once had enormous respect for her.

From a non-American perspective, Obama comes across far better than Hillary Clinton. I've been surprised with his dignity and calm in dealing with some of the crazy things that have been thrown at him. He's pretty cool! :)

He has astounding grace under fire. He takes every silly thing thrown at him, reconfigures it and uses it to his advantage (the Reverend Wright controversy triggered Obama to give the best speech on racial relations in thirty years in this country). Oddly enough, I think the whole "elitism" nonsense may just win Indiana for him when Clinton was several points ahead last week. The whole "Annie Oakley" speech is hilariously funny -- better even than his famous "please forgive me for being delayed, I was pinned down by sniper fire" line. It's just sad to see Hillary Clinton go down this way.

I don't think the later generations of Americans have any clue of what a real President with their interests in mind can do. We've come through thirty years of pro-corporate GOP garbage. I'm confident at this point (barring assassination or something like that) that we'll have President Obama for at least four years -- and thank heavens for it.

I'm glad you guys are getting a lot on Obama there to counter all the Clinton-izing.
