It's THAT time of the year
As I've mentioned before here, I have summer-triggered Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD (in short, the vast majority of my ancestry is British and what isn't is Cherokee and they're a mountain-living people so there we have it). My genetic heritage is not made for the Golden State. As much as I love California, the summer always brings around the worst of my depression so up go my meds and up go the symptoms and boy ain't we got fun (not). :) I'm VERY glad my family came here but it just means I have to deal a little until we move to Washington (much of which has a climate similar to Great Brit). I'm sure my friend Lisa can attest to that. *waves at Lisa*

The good thing is that I tend to get a lot of writing done during this time so at least its somewhat productive. I *will* have the fic updated on my site shortly.

It seems the Adams Washington DC memorial is FINALLY seeing some daylight. They're considering (nudge nudge to some on my flist) a plot of land near the Jefferson memorial. The tentative plan is following David McCullough's and Ted Kennedy's idea of a small library and garden to honor the whole family (as John would be uncomfortable being singled out from Abigail obviously and also from John Quincy and Louisa Catherine). John would definitely NOT want an obelisk or marble monument. I hope Kennedy lives to see the monument finally implemented.

This last mini-rant is about the thing I love to hate and hate to love -- fandom. I have two more friends who've been assailed by people the last week for absolutely no good reason. I think we should all keep in mind (I know I'm preaching to the choir with my flist, but this is for any troll passing through) that there are HUMAN BEINGS on the other end of these exchanges. They aren't shadow figures at which to aim our personal grudges and past problems. People are more important than any fandom. Okay, end of sanctimony but I thought it needed to be said.

BTW, I've added a site to my main site for my music videos (gen and slash).

Novel is done plus a little Northern Exposure for what ails you
My House/Wilson novel is finished and has gone to be beta'd by Annie (and Lyn). The title is "Already Spring".

Onto another favorite TV show ... I loved Northern Exposure, as I know a lot of my friends did. Awhile ago, I made a little Marilyn Whirlwind music video tribute, mainly because I heard a song that could only have been vidded around her character. So it's a tribute to one of the few whole Native American characters ever on TV played by an actual Native American actress, Elaine Miles. I'm not sure why I haven't posted this since it's among my few music vids that don't make me twitch when I view them, but ... here tis anyway ... The song is "When You Say Nothing At All" (see, I told you).
