When good producers go bad ...
Warning ... rant with House spoilers.

Maybe David Shore should give Brannon Braga a call )

Now, I'll go back to something more pleasant ... like refiling four years of back taxes.

New House/Wilson short story
I've posted another H/W story that I won't be putting anywhere but there (and a zine). I'll post it for awhile so anyone from my flist who might like to read it can. It's short -- around ten pages. It's NC17 and again in a doc file. It's the second entry on my H/W fic page: "Greg, Jimmy and the Unnatural Sublimation of the Everyday Raspberry Popsicle".

House/Wilson, Birthday wishes and gifts
Okay, firstly happy birthday to [info]desrose, someone else I've forgotten (please email me at melody@melarry.com and remind me), [info]inamac, [info]lexin, and [info]miss_sigma. I bequeath unto you each your choice of graphic (I suck at them -- I made most of mine, so you can check to see), music video (a little better at these) or story. The stories take me awhile (sometimes up to two months). I advise not posting your requests here -- I'd suggest emailing me because sometimes I forget to check (I am old and addled). My email address is melody@melarry.com. I love doing this stuff but sometimes it takes awhile.

Below you will find House/Wilson music video presents for [info]miraclekind, [info]kahendorphins, Teri Peach and Morgan (I forgot your IDs, guys!). Their song ideas, my execution (sometimes in the literal sense). I know "Reason to Believe" is a little country-ish, but I like using the actually songwriter of the song and I think Tim renders it better than most. "Always" almost made my eardrums explode. Oh, and happy frickin' birthday, Harry Kenney (especially after the you-know-what happened ... I'll call you tomorrow, bro). Here's a link to his foodie blog as a little gift.

House/Wilson music videos )

To those who don't read House_Wilson, wait till you get a load of the episode description of the two-part season ender titled "House's Head" and "Wilson's Heart".

A cool Adams vid plus novel tomorrow
I got such a chuckle out of this -- someone posted it over on Youtube. Let's say it's sort of "John Adams, Protective Father meets Drama Prairie Dog".

Prairie Adams )

The H/W novel tomorrow. Birthday stuff tomorrow, too.

Oh, one more thing -- Bill Maher weighs in on "elitism".

House/Wilson polls, Obama logo, LJ babelfish for old folks
I feel very sorry for the press guy who has to go into the front office at Fox and explain the results of this poll to the old jelly-bean toking jerks in there (click on Blog de House and the poll is on the left) . Wilson is edging 60%. It's essentially been a war between the Hilson folk and the various shippers, but we're smoking them. Not that I voted of course ... I'm far too sophisticated for such silliness (but we SMOKED 'EM). Since this is the second such poll Hilson has won, Fox men must be sweating bullets. I should mention 1) the "sophisticated" crack was a joke and (2) the info on the poll came from [info]house_wilson - I knew I'd get in trouble for something today.

Edited to add: Ausiello actually caved (the Hilson folk kept at him) and added Wilson to his TV Guide "House's one true love" poll. Wilson is currently leading the pack. How's that for an infantile poll name, though? Ick.

Getcher Obama logo (like my icon) here.

Lots of ethnologists have suggested that a new language is arising from the net. For those of us old fangirls surfing the LOLZ, FTWs and WINs on LJ with wrinkles across our confused foreheads, I have found this. I finally understood some of the fan fic reviews I've received!

BTW, this is Sunday's post. The other Sunday's post was Saturday's post. Probably none for tomorrow, so you can relax. lol

For the record, I'm a moron
Somebody must have sprinkled stupid salt on my popcorn the day I rushed through HBO's John Adams. Paul Giamatti is brilliant in it. Watching it over the weeks, my brain somehow unfroze and I was able to see clearly. The man's complexities are perfectly portrayed. Laura Linney is perfect, too. I was just a raging lunatic the day I saw it or something. BTW, I meant "Court of St. James" the other day of course but I was so anxious to get to my King George joke, I flubbed it. lol

The H/W novel should only be a few more days (it is being beta'd). I just gave a short House/Wilson story to Mysti for Snarkcasm. The title is "Greg, Jimmy and the Unnatural Sublimation of the Everyday Raspberry Popsicle". You can kinda let your mind go from there as to its storyline. I don't post anything online for a year that I'm sending in for print, but if you email me at the usual -- melody AT melarry.com -- I'll send it to you via email if you don't buy zines. I've also nearly finished the story I auctioned off for the Moonridge auction -- the buyer liked "Terms of Surrender" (Jack/Chloe) so they're getting a sequel. (If anyone wants to read that, too, I guess I can email it as well ... I don't think the buyer would mind).

A couple of other things to go up on my site shortly, too.

McKenna2012 -- Dean vids -- H/W novel update - an eclectic brew there
There's yet another book coming out pimping the Mayan calendar with the supposed "end date" of 2012.

Terence McKenna once used the year to signify a marked change of consciousness predicted with his Novelty theory (which some have called genius and others have called an externalized metaphor of his own insanity ... I called it Terence just "supposin'") -- the n-wave increased to maximum in 2012. It was NOT the end of the world ... it was merely the end of the steady state version of the world (he foresaw mass implementation of nanotech and that kind of thing). And even that is a pale explanation for the concept. Now all these writers have pimped his ideas, translated it as the "end of the world" and started prattling about it on talk shows. Others wrote about it before Terence, of course, but he was the popularist to translate the concept.

I swear, no culture has had their culture stolen from and then radically misunderstood like the Mayans. Yes, their calendar seems to (according to our capacity to read it) end at 2012. But that supposes we know how to read it (setting aside the arbitrary calendar reference). Personally, I think they just ran out of "paper". ;)

A couple of cool Jimmy vids. Laura [info]mozartfan1313 reminded me of ... well, let's just say it underscores that even genius has to start *somewhere*. lol It's a very old Pepsi commercial. Keep your eye on the little blond guy by the piano. The second is by Salome, whose Dean collection is even bigger than mine, has put together a gorgeous Cal/Abra (East of Eden) music video. I just love this. It's so different than the usual fan vid these days (not that I don't love many of those, too).

videos )

My House/Wilson slash novel that still doesn't have a name yet is going along very well. I'm having wonderful fun with it. I'm at that point where I can see the end in sight and I don't want the trip to end. I know the writers on my flist will know that experience. It's not too common and lots of fun when it happens.

Proof the Clark Kent disguise works + House/Wilson nattering + Morgan/Garcia comparisons
Dean stuff -- yes, again -- behind cut )

House/Wilson nattering with M/G comparison )

As a wrap-up, I'm still working out the ending of the TS novel, which will go to my beta Annie Booker when finished, and pounding on the House/Wilson novel, along with working on for-profit crap up the wazoo (incidentally, anyone know what a wazoo is or do I even want to know?). Hope everyone has a great Friday. Thanks for reading my words, as always.

SuperTuesday, House/Wilson and OMFG!!!!
Good on all of us for SuperTuesday -- record turnouts (to dwarf even Presidential election years) for the Democrats. Talk about improving our ground game. Obama and Clinton are fairly even for delegates. Gonna be an electoral chickie run from here, friends.

And oh ... um, if you have not seen last night's House episode and you are a slasher (H/W, of course) ... well ... OMFG H/W stuff behind cut )

Let us put it this way, Doris Egan (who IS a god ... my kid sister was always right) and Leonard Dick (he co-wrote it) have given us a sea of slashiness to swim in for all the dark new Houseless months ahead. These people will never know what hit them ... it'll be all slash, House and Wilson now that we've a taste for it and we'll keep coming back to the boat like Bruce, barking our fins against the hull.* Note to Fox, lest they may not know the laser-like focus and indefatigable energy that fandom can bring to a cause (see also Mulder and Scully), you should just surrender now. There is no bigger boat. House and Wilson are going to get frisky. Deal.

*How many movies could I possibly jam into a single sentence?

RSL's birthday drive
Well, I've only ever written two House/Wilson stories (and god knows I still owe poor Lisa a music video from the last charity go-round) but it has been mentioned that even unknown H/W folk like me are welcome, so I'll add in mine. Robert Sean Leonard's birthday is coming up and the comm based House fanfic groups are raising money for Broadway Cares (Equity Fights AIDS along with a lot of other related NYC theatre/performer organizations).

I'm not very prolific, but I am working on a House/Wilson adult novel now. I'll offer a chapter before anyone but my beta sees it for a donation to Broadway Cares through the birthday link for $5 each chapter. Donate $10, I'll send you the whole novel. Toss in $25, I'll not only send you the whole electronic copy plus a bound hard copy and naked pictures of Wilson (okay, I lied about the last part).

Here's my previous stuff. Scroll down for the H/W stuff.

Rsl_bday_drive has details and instructions on how to donate. When you get your email acknowledgement from Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, forward a copy to me with details of your donation.
